Constance H. Cole
Activist and Community Volunteer Connie Cole
Connie Cole is a passionate activist, protestor, and volunteer based in the Providence, RI, Area. She has participated in civil rights and anti-violence events and has volunteered and supported community organizations throughout the northeast. In 1969, she volunteered with the Clergy Consultation Service of Philadelphia, a community group that provided spiritual and health services. The following year, she volunteered for Father Robert Drinan’s political campaign in Massachusetts’ 3rd District.
Moreover, Connie Cole gained further political experience the following year when she volunteered in Montgomery County, PA, for the political campaign of Norval D. Reece, a candidate for the US Senate from Pennsylvania. Her political activism also included joining the 1969 march on Washington to end the war in Vietnam.
As a community volunteer, Connie Cole worked for the National Forest Service on a project to build an interpretive trail in the Gros Ventre slide near Kelly, Wyoming. She also has experience working for the YWCA as a camp counselor and Y-Teen event coordinator.
